Snarveien til Shell . Finance and Loyalty

Coffee on the go is a daily routine for many of us. At St1, it was made effortless for the customers with the “Snarveien til Shell” app. While getting coffee lovers’ taste buds tickled, the app activates the other customer benefits in an engaging way.

St1 Norway wanted to make their customer loyalty program more accessible in digital channels and enhance the user experience of their digital services. The mobile app was a pilot project that was soon followed by other design projects with St1 Finland, Sweden and Norway. They are made in co-operation with Qvik.

Approach

Snarveien til Shell is a consumer app for St1 loyalty customers in Norway. It includes integrations to Trumf, a significant Norwegian loyalty program. With a fixed yearly price, consumers are offered an unlimited coffee purchase opportunity in gas stations. New customer can also apply for the St1 MasterCard through the app.

Results

The original target for the app was 25 000 users in Norway by the end of 2018. Target was clearly surpassed – the app currently has 57 000 users. In the App Store, Snarveien til Shell has 4.1 rating, and in Google Play the app has 3.3. rating.
